FAQ Q. What is Checkmate? A. CheckMate is a customized, call-in service that monitors the safety of people who work, or live alone, by contacting them at regular intervals. When they answer the call, they input their PIN number to indicate they are safe. If there is no answer, ProTELEC's Central Station will automatically receive an alarm and quickly contacts the appropriate party. Q. Who ensures the safety of the people being checked on? A. ProTELEC's own Central Monitoring Station, manned by a highly trained team of dedicated professionals, responds to any CheckMate alarm 24/7. The station is approved and annually inspected by the Underwriters Laboratory of Canada, and is 5 Diamond certified, ensuring that strict industry standard operating procedures are followed. ProTELEC has been protecting life and property since 1968. Q. Can CheckMate track my location throughout my shift? A. Yes. Simply activate CheckMate's Location Recording Option and the lone person will be asked to provide details of where they are and/or will be until the next check-in telephone call. In the event of an alarm, a ProTELEC operator will be able to replay the message to help the Alert contact find that person. Q. Can I remotely turn my checklist on and off? A. Yes. You can remotely activate and deactivate
your checklist through our website, or by phoning our Central Station.
