Checking fence lines 20 km from the homestead. Running heavy equipment alone in remote fields. Handling livestock with no one around. CheckMate gives your team the Safe Alone app, satellite check-ins, fall detection, and 24/7 human operators who take action — even on remote properties far from the nearest cell tower.
Trusted by agricultural operations across Canada
Vast properties with no cell signal, heavy machinery, unpredictable livestock, and extreme weather — agriculture is one of Canada's most dangerous industries for lone workers.
A farmer checking fence lines 20 km from the homestead. A rancher moving cattle across remote pasture. No cell signal in any direction — a broken leg, a snake bite, or a medical emergency, and there's no way to call for help.
The satellite device sends check-ins and GPS location via the Iridium network — no cell towers needed. Works anywhere in Canada, even hundreds of kilometres from the nearest town.
Tractor rollovers. Auger entanglements. PTO shaft incidents. Heavy equipment is the #1 cause of farm fatalities — and operators are almost always alone when it happens. An unconscious worker pinned under a machine can't call anyone.
The Safe Alone app delivers one-tap check-ins and silent panic alerts from the operator's smartphone, and the SOS wearable adds automatic fall detection for sudden impacts. For fields beyond cell coverage, a satellite communicator like Zoleo — or Rogers Satellite service on the phone — keeps check-ins and alerts flowing anywhere on the property.
Kicked by a horse. Trampled by cattle. Pinned against a gate by a 2,000-pound bull. Livestock injuries happen fast and without warning — sudden incapacitation in a remote field with no one around to witness it.
One tap on the Safe Alone app — or an automatic fall alert from the SOS wearable — sends GPS coordinates straight to our 24/7 operators, guiding first responders to the exact pasture, barn, or paddock. A satellite communicator keeps workers covered even where cell service doesn't reach.
Spraying alone in remote fields — sudden dizziness, chemical burns, respiratory distress. Exposure symptoms can escalate from disorientation to unconsciousness in minutes, and the worker is the only one who would notice.
Workers set short-interval check-ins before starting chemical work. If a check-in is missed, 24/7 operators trigger the emergency protocol immediately — no delay, no assumptions.
-40°C winter cold that causes hypothermia in minutes. Summer heat exhaustion during harvest. Grain bin entrapment that buries a worker in seconds. Seasonal extremes turn routine farm work into life-threatening situations.
Fall detection and timed check-ins work even when the worker is incapacitated. The system doesn't need the worker to be conscious to send an alert — that's the whole point.
From farmers to seasonal workers — everyone who works alone on the land.

Vast farmland, remote pastures, and properties with zero cell coverage. The satellite device sends check-ins and GPS location from anywhere in Canada — no cell towers needed.
Automatic fall and impact detection for equipment operators and livestock handlers. Triggers an alert if it senses a rollover, fall, or sudden impact — even if the worker is unconscious.
Farmhouse phone, personal cell, or any landline. Workers check in with a simple call — no app required, no special equipment needed.
A simple, proven system that keeps your lone workers connected and protected — every shift, every day.
Workers receive scheduled check-in prompts via the satellite device, the app, or a phone call. One tap confirms they're safe — even with no cell signal.
Missed check-in? Our system immediately flags it. No delay, no assumptions — just instant awareness.
Our ULC-certified operators call the worker, then escalate to supervisors. Real humans, real follow-through.

Yes — but it requires a satellite communicator, not just the SOS wearable. Workers can pair the Safe Alone app with a satellite device like Zoleo (which uses the Iridium network), or add Rogers Satellite service directly to their phone. Both options cover 100% of Canada, including the most remote farmland, and let workers send check-ins and GPS location from anywhere on the property. The stand-alone SOS pendant does not work in areas with no cell service.
Workers carry a small satellite device (about the size of a phone). They press a button to check in, and the device sends their GPS location to our monitoring centre via satellite. If they miss a check-in, our 24/7 operators begin the escalation protocol immediately. The device also has a panic button for emergencies. For workers near the farmhouse or in areas with cell coverage, the smartphone app and phone check-ins work too.
CheckMate works for operations of any size — from a single farmer working 640 acres alone to large agricultural cooperatives with hundreds of field workers. There's no minimum number of users, and the system scales up easily. Many of our agricultural clients started with one or two satellite devices and expanded from there.
Most Canadian provinces now include agricultural workers under OHS working alone regulations. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba all require employers to have procedures for checking on lone workers at regular intervals. CheckMate automatically documents every check-in, alert, and escalation with timestamps and GPS — creating a complete compliance audit trail that satisfies provincial requirements.
The SOS wearable uses accelerometer and impact sensors to detect sudden falls, rollovers, and impacts — like a tractor rollover or being kicked by livestock. When an incident is detected, an alert with GPS coordinates is sent instantly to our 24/7 monitoring centre over the cell network. This is critical in agriculture because the worker is often unconscious or pinned and physically cannot press a button or make a call. For operations that run in areas without reliable cell coverage, pairing the Safe Alone app with a satellite communicator (like Zoleo) or adding Rogers Satellite service to the phone ensures alerts still get through.
