Rial Black is General Manager of CheckMate, the lone worker monitoring service of ProTELEC, the family-owned Winnipeg company that has monitored alarms since 1968. CheckMate launched in 2003 as a scheduled safety check-in service run through ProTELEC's ULC Five Diamond certified monitoring centre, and today it covers more than 9,000 workers at 900 and more Canadian organizations, handling more than 3.8 million safety checks a year.
Rial oversees the monitoring service, the escalation procedures the operators follow, and the working-alone programs CheckMate sets up with employers across Canada.
